Yahrzeit calculator
Find the yahrzeit date.
Enter the date your loved one passed away and whether it was before or after sunset. You'll see the Hebrew date and the next five yahrzeits, with the evening to light the candle.
Between sunset and nightfall? That stretch is treated as uncertain. Some keep the later date as the yahrzeit and also say Kaddish on the earlier one. Ask a rabbi.
Burial a few days later? The common custom is to keep the yahrzeit on the date of passing, even in the first year.
Passed away in Adar? If it was in a regular year, the common custom is to keep the yahrzeit in Adar I in a leap year and say Kaddish on the same date in Adar II as well. If it was in a leap year, keep the yahrzeit in the Adar it happened in. The calculator shows the Adar I date for the first case.
